Welcome!
Life is a journey, a story, comprised of
many smaller stories of highs,
lows, struggle, harm, shame, goodness and blessing. The hard stories often hold us captive. The good news is that we can escape their grip! It would be our
pleasure to work with you, supporting and aiding you to find hope and healing, to see beauty arise from the grip of harm and struggle.

We are relational beings. We were created to be in relationship with others, but often it is in relationship that we experience heartache and trauma. Our current struggles are most often fueled by past story. From our earliest moments we are experiencing and developing attachment styles, coping mechanisms, and filters that may not see today's relational difficulties as clearly as we think. We process our pain emotionally, intellectually, spiritually but also bodily. The body is often overlooked when processing trauma. It stores memory. To heal we have to learn to listen again to our bodies. Horses are uniquely made to help us become more in touch with our own bodies. Also, our stories are often a guide to understanding present difficulties. So, here at New Pathways, we have the privilege of partnering with horses as we explore our stories, our attachment styles, our somatic memory, practice healthy relationship patterns, learn to repair rupture, etc. and embark on the hard but amazing journey toward hope and healing.

Welcome to New Pathways!
Fees, Hours, Paperwork Found Here
Horsemanship is available through the lens of connected relationship. Horses are relational beings that see, hear and feel your ability to hear, see and feel them. You can build mutual relationship by slowing down and listening, attuning and responding while asking them for the same. This is not riding lessons. It is groundwork that builds connection and then leads to connected riding. This is different from therapy but if issues arise that hinder your ability to connect, it may be recommended that we pair those services to aid in your ability find connection. This is available at Oaky Doak farm or with your own horses if in my travel radius. Please reach out to inquire.
Story work is the practice of working with past story in a way to see how it intersects and sometimes holds you captive through reenactments and themes found in today's present. This is an invitation into your own story. In a safe and supported environment, you are invited to understand, see, tell, write, live out your story, seeing how it influences your today. The grip of the past can be loosened as we work towards hope and healing through transformation of your story. If you choose to take part in the story work track, it is a 10 week combination between experiential story work and course work that includes helpful readings and writings. This track is currently in development but could include some time on the property here at Oaky Doak but much of it could be done via tele-health.
Trauma Informed Equine Assisted Therapy is available currently on Wednesdays. As we grow, more time will be added so please reach out and ask. I do know that I will not have weekend hours but can have weekend special events. Please inquire below. Currently we see children, teens and young adults age 8-30 and adult women of all ages. Press learn more below or contact us if you have questions. A fifteen minute free consolation is available to assess whether New Pathways is a right fit for you.
